15 Inmate-Trained Horses Adopted During BLM Event

Posted: Updated:

Officials with the Bureau of Land Management have announced the results of their recent saddle-trained horse adoption event.

Inmates at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City spent several months saddle-training 15 wild horses.

The horses were gathered from herd management areas in Nevada, Idaho, California and Oregon.

And this past Saturday, the horses were adopted -- for an average of $860.

The next saddle-trained horse adoption event will be held on August 3rd, during the Western States Wild Horse and Burro Expo in Gardnerville.
