Trailing 5-1 the University of Nevada baseball team scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to close within a run but was unable to complete the comeback falling 6-4 at Fresno State in the final regular season game on Saturday night at Pete Beiden Field.   The Wolf Pack lost all three games of the Mountain West series to the Bulldogs.

FS scored the first three runs of the game before Nevada scored a run in the top of the fifth but the Bulldogs answered in their half of the inning putting a run on the board.

Brooks Klein singled home two runs in the top of the seventh and pinch hitter Tommy Niebergall's sacrifice fly made it a 5-4 contest.  The Bulldogs answered back with a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh to make the final score 6-4.

Tom Jameson (1-8) suffered the loss allowing three runs in four innings on the mound.  Jake Shull (3-1) pitched four scoreless innings to earn the win and Tim Borst (4) pitched the final two innings to earn his fourth save.

Klein (2-for-4,2RBI) led the Pack with two hits and two RBI.

Kevin Viers (3-for-4,3R,2RBI) had three hits including a pair of solo home runs and drove in three for FS.

Nevada returns to Fresno State to play the Bulldogs for the fourth consecutive game in the first round of the Mountain West Tournament on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
