The Food and Drug Administration has approved a new drug to treat men with advanced prostate cancer that has spread to the bone. Xofigo binds with minerals in the bone to deliver radiation to tumors and limits damage to surrounding tissues. Research shows people who took the drug lived about 3 months longer than those who took placebo.

A new study shows a cancer diagnosis can take a serious financial toll on patients.
The research published in the journal Health Affairs finds people with cancer are more than two-and-a-half times more likely to declare bankruptcy than people who don't have cancer.
Younger patients have higher rates of bankruptcy than older patients.

And drinking sugar sweetened beverages could increase your risk of kidney stones.
Researchers at Brigham and Women's Hospital looked at data on nearly 200,000 people and found people who had one or more sugar-sweetened cola drinks per day had a 23% higher risk of developing kidney stones. 30% of Americans will get a kidney stone at some point in their lives.
