Nevada Gambling Revenue Up 7% From March 2012

Three-quarters of the way through the fiscal year, gambling revenue at Nevada casinos is running nearly 3% ahead of last year.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board said Friday casinos statewide won more than $914 million in March, a 7% gain over March 2012. That pushed the fiscal year-to-date total to nearly $8.4 billion, 2.8% more than last year.

The Las Vegas Strip posted a 13.1% monthly gain over March a year ago and is now 5.7% ahead of 2012. Washoe County was up 9.5% for March, including a 10.8% gain in Reno.

North Lake Tahoe was up 15.4%, South Tahoe down 11%, Carson Valley down 2%, Wendover up 7.6% and the rest of Elko County up 8.9%.
