Police arrested one man after they say he shot another man, hitting him in the head and shoulder late Tuesday night.

The shooting happened at the intersection of Atlantis Driveway and south Virginia Street around 11pm.

Police say the victim managed to drive himself to the valet area of the casino, despite his wounds. REMSA quickly transported him to the hospital.

According to police, they had spoken to the alleged shooter, 37-year-old Eric Dale, before the victim had even appeared. They were working a call in the area of a man acting strangely in a parking lot. Police were talking with Dale, when they got the shooting call.

Police later learned the shooter fit the description of the man they had spoken to for acting strangely. Dale was booked into the Washoe County Jail on several gun-related charges including attempted murder.

The victim's name has not been released.
