RTC Recruits Advisory Committee Volunteers

The RTC has openings for its Citizens and Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committees. Volunteers provide input to guide the RTC's plans for all aspects of surface transportation concerning roads, transit, bicycle and pedestrian issues. They help review RTC goals and objectives and offer feedback and recommendations which is beneficial to the RTC Board of Commissioners. Community participation is the foundation for the projects and programs RTC administers on behalf of the citizens of Washoe County.

Citizens Advisory Committee

Applicants should have an interest in policy issues relative to public transportation, the regional street and highway system, and multimodal transportation planning in the region; be willing to attend monthly meetings held the first Wednesday of each month at 5:30 pm. Positions available include regular members (three positions/three year terms) and alternate members.

Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee

Applicants should have an interest in bicycle and pedestrian transportation issues in Washoe County and be willing to attend monthly meetings held the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm. Positions available are for alternate members.

Alternate members for both committees serve until they are appointed as a regular member. Applications are available at the RTC Planning Department, 1105 Terminal Way, Suite 211, Reno or on the RTC website - rtcwashoe.com. Completed applications must be received at RTC by 5:00 pm on Friday, May 24, 2013. For more information call 348-0480.
