New Business Co-Op Opens in Midtown Reno

Posted: Updated:

We saw a lot of people enjoying the weather in midtown today where businesses are popping up all over - like a new co-op.

La Garage Midtown Galleria is one-stop shopping. It sells everything from jewelry to furniture, artwork, even wedding bouquets.

And it's business concept is just as unique. Several entreprenuers are working out of this shop.

The co-owner says she hopes to give them the best chance to succeed. "It's really unique because it's small businesses all underneath one roof. They're all working together to grow and to support small businesses," says Tammy Borde.

They each work a few days per month to cut costs, too.

And many of these women, like the designer of "Live at Five Jewelry" - have full-time jobs as well.

So this is a perfect way to get their hobbies or side-businesses up and running.

La Garage's grand opening was today. It's located just south of Vassar Street on Virginia - right next to Sierra Nevada Chocolate.
