Man Arrested After Rampage in Red Rock

Posted: Updated:

A man was arrested and taken to the hospital to treat injuries sustained by resisting arrest following a rampage north of Reno.

It all started Sunday night around 10 p.m. According to the Washoe County Sheriff's Office, Stefan Rodrigues got into a fight with his girlfriend at her house on Percheron drive in Red Rock. They say Rodrigues punched her several times and even lit her trash on fire. When neighbors tried to help, he went outside and started damaging their cars on the street. Deputies say the suspect then took off in one of the neighbor's cars.

Around 3 a.m. Monday deputies located Rodrigues in the stolen car. When they tried to arrest him he resisted and got onto the hood of the car. Deputies tazed him, causing him to fall from the vehicle.

He was taken to the hospital to treat his injuries and is now being held at the Washoe County Jail.
