RENO, Nev.—Eight Northern Nevada baseball players earned a spot in the second round of the High School Home Run Derby at Aces Ballpark, following the initial round on Sunday afternoon.

Batters are competing for the chance to take part in the 2013 Triple-A Home Run Derby, to be held at Aces Ballpark on July 15 as part of the Triple-A All-Star festivities.

Baird Bishop (North Tahoe), Joey Dice (Reed), Chase Hauder (Spanish Springs) Tim Lichty (Galena), Andy McKechnie (Truckee), Kody Milligan (North Valleys), Kody Reynolds (McQueen) and Colin Spencer (North Tahoe) earned a spot in the semifinals.

The semifinal round will be held on June 2, after the Aces 1:05 p.m. game that day. The top two participants from that round will slug it out before the Aces July 3 game, and the winner of that round will compete in the Triple-A Home Run Derby.

Fans wishing to attend the semifinals or final round of High School Home Run Derby must purchase a ticket to that day's Aces game. Tickets for all Aces home games, as well as the Triple-A Home Run Derby, can be bought at RenoAces.com, by calling (775) 334-7000 or by visiting the Aces Ballpark Ticket Office.
