Local High School Combats Cyber Bullies With Hash tags

Posted: Updated:

Students at Damonte Ranch High School have had an emotional week. A former student is on life-support after rolling her car Tuesday. To add to the devastation of losing one of their own, mean spirited twitter posts with vulgar titles have been targeting students.

The students however, are starting to fight cyber attacks, with cyber compliments. To help raise spirits after Brown's accident and combat the mean posts.

It is called "#SpreadTheLove". Students post kind and encouraging words like "I never realized how much I loved everyone until today. I wish I could take back every mean thing I said." or "I've been going through a really hard time and thank you to everyone for being there, and for the love tonight. I needed it." The follow the post with #spreadthelove to place all the good messages to the same twitter feed.

One student told Channel 2, "Now more than ever, we need to know love is more powerful than hate."
