Memorial Fund Created for Family of Teen Girl Killed in Rollover

Posted: Updated:

The teen girl killed in a rollover accident last week in Pleasant Valley now has a memorial fund set up in her honor to help her family pay for burial.

17-year-old Heather Brown was declared brain dead last Wednesday afternoon around 3pm, and had remained on life-support through Friday morning when doctors were scheduled to perform an organ donation procedure.

She died at Renown Regional Medical Center.

Troopers say the Washoe Valley girl was driving south on Highway 395 near Ames Lane just before 4pm, when for some reason she lost control of her Dodge sedan. Her car went across the north lanes, hit a tree and rolled over.

Troopers still don't know yet if alcohol is a factor.

If you'd like to help her family, you can go to any Wells Fargo bank and ask for the Heather Brown Memorial Fund - or you can donate online at www.wepay.com/donations/1197470157

The Nevada Highway Patrol's Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the crash. If you have any information that could help authorities, call Trooper Doug Hildebrand at 775-689-4623 or email him at dhildebrand@dps.state.nv.us  regarding case #NHP-130423030.
