A man is behind bars after a standoff in Sun Valley Saturday.

Deputies with the Washoe County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a home on Yukon Drive around 10 a.m. for a report of an assault with a firearm.

Deputies say when they arrived at the home, the suspect was gone. They found the man's vehicle outside a trailer a few streets away on Sun Valley Boulevard and 5th Avenue.

Deputies surrounded the trailer and tried to get the suspect to come out with no luck. About 20 minutes later, a second man came out and told deputies the suspect had a 9-year old girl with him.

Deputies then called the Reno Police Department and the SWAT team for backup.

"Prior to the arrival of SWAT, the little girl was released," said Sgt. Morgan Jaeck of the Washoe County Sheriff's Office. "We're not sure if she was being held hostage, but she was able to come out of the house. We continued to hail for about an hour and a half. We were ultimately able to make cell phone contact with the suspect and he surrendered without incident."

The suspect, identified as Jose Carrillo-Ceballos, was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, burglary, child endangerment and domestic battery.

No one, including the girl, was injured in the incident. Deputies say no shots were fired.
