Residential Burglary Suspect Arrested in Sparks

Sparks Police have a man behind bars for allegedly burglarizing a home Wednesday morning.

Police responded to a report of a residential burglary at a home on the 1300 block of Prospect Avenue around 11:30 a.m.

They say the suspect entered the home through an open window, took money and other property.

Police say he was still in the area when officers saw him. He then ran off, but was found and arrested by officers about a half an hour later.

The suspect was identified as 47-year old Jeffrey Cornell of Sparks. He admitted to the crime and was found with the victim's property.

He is charged with residential burglary, possession of burglary tools and obstructing.
