Overdue Pilot's Mother: Girlfriend Also on Board

Posted: Updated:

The mother of a 30-year-old Reno pilot whose small plane went missing after departing from North Las Vegas says her son's girlfriend was also on board.

Kay Lynn Marble said Wednesday that authorities told her a 21-year-old woman from Minden was riding with Cory Marble during his weekend trip to and from southern Nevada.

Lyon County deputies didn't immediately return calls to confirm the information.

An FAA spokesman says the plane departed from the North Las Vegas Airport about 6 p.m. Sunday and was last detected 78 miles southeast of Reno.

Crews resumed a search in that area Wednesday.

Kay Lynn Marble says her son is an Eagle Scout with survival skills, but she fears for his health with freezing temperatures in recent nights.  (AP)
