Posted: Updated:

A man who drove into and killed a guy riding his moped will now spend 15 years behind bars.

44-year-old Candido Aniceto-Trejo, was sentenced yesterday after a hit-and-run fatal crash back in July.

Police say Eric Thomas was riding his moped in the bike lane, when Aniceto-Trejo swerved out of his lane and hit him. Aniceto-Trejo took off even after Thomas flew off his bike... He died from severe head injuries.

Prosecutors say he is in the country illegally and will likely be sent back to Mexico after his prison sentence.
