Reno firefighters are investigating what caused a home under construction to go up in flames Tuesday afternoon.

The fire broke out at a home on Anselmo Drive about 15 minutes before 2 pm.

Firefighters say the flames spread quickly throughout the home because it was under construction.

The fire caused some of the wall of the home to collapse, meaning firefighters had to attack the flames from the outside. However, firefighters were able to get the fire out in about 10 minutes.

A roofer who was working on the home was able to get off the building quickly and was not hurt.

Firefighters say the wind was a concern, and may have caused embers to blow down the hill and ignite a fire at a home on west Fourth Street. Firefighters also able to get that knocked down quickly.
