Reno Police Identify Victim in Keno Motel Shooting

Posted: Updated:

Police say they are questioning a potential suspect in a fatal shooting that happened in downtown Reno early Monday morning.

It happened at the Keno Motel on 300 West Street, just one block north of the Montage and east of the Sands Regency just before 4am.

Police say 26-year-old Bryan Talley of Reno was shot in the chest and later died at a Reno hospital.

They say the suspect and Talley do appear to have a connection, through a mutual friend.

For now detectives are continuing the investigation, interviewing witnesses and canvassing the neighborhood.

"The investigation is ongoing. We are trying to get as much information as we can from the witnesses that were on scene, including the shooter, who is accounted for," says Lt. Mohammad Rafaqat.

RPD says this incident does not seem to be alcohol- or drug-related and they are not releasing any information on a possible motive.
