The Nevada Highway Patrol made two separate arrests for driving under the influence and eluding troopers overnight.

Troopers first arrested 35-year-old Jose Galvan-Medina after they say he ignored an attempt to pull him over and continued speeding on Pyramid Way in Sparks around 11:30pm Sunday.

Law enforcement eventually caught up with him near his home where they say he tried to resist arrest, but was safely taken into custody.

About three hours later, a trooper tried to stop 22-year-old Justin Rodriguez for allegedly driving with an expired license plate on Interstate 80 near Virginia Street.

Instead of yielding, the Highway Patrol says he led the trooper onto southbound I-580 and several side streets before finally stopping on Kuenzli Lane just off of Kietzke.

He's facing several charges including DUI, marijuana possession, and eluding a police officer. His bail is set at $8,175.
