The Carson City Sheriff's Office say arrests have been made in connection with the recent disappearance of a state employee.

Sheriff Ken Furlong tells Channel 2 News that a body was found wrapped up around 8 a.m. Saturday in the water of the Carson River, south of Carson River Road. However, the body has not been confirmed as 62-year-old William McCune at this time. Sheriff Furlong says an autopsy with the Washoe County Medical Examiner's Office is pending.

McCune is the chief insurance examiner for the state of Nevada. He was reported missing on Thursday after he did not show up for work and missed a work-related flight. Deputies responded to an apartment in the 700 block of Silver Oak Drive just after 8:30 a.m. Thursday, and discovered signs of an obvious struggle.

Sheriff Furlong says after an investigation, detectives arrested 23-year old Michael Evans in Carson City in connection with McCune's disappearance. He is charged with murder, murder of an older person, battery with a deadly weapon causing substantial bodily harm and burglary.

Investigators also went to Las Vegas, where three other suspects related to McCune's disappearance were arrested, 20-year old Makyla Blackmore is charged with murder and burglary, 22-year old Raul Garcia is also charged with murder and burglary, and 20-year old Anthony Elliott is charged with murder. Sheriff Furlong says all three were arrested on warrants issued out of Carson City courts. They are expected to be returned to Carson City within a week.

Detectives are still searching for McCune's 2000 maroon Dodge pickup truck. However, they found the truck's license plates in Evans' home.

Sheriff Furlong says at least one of the suspects has had direct contact with McCune in the past. Detectives believe illegal drugs could be involved, and a possible motive behind the incident.

Sheriff Furlong says forensic specialists with the Carson City Sheriff's Office will continue to process McCune's home for evidence. The collections process is expected to be completed early next week.

Although, four suspects have been arrested, Sheriff Furlong says the investigation remains open as detectives continue to work with the Carson City District Attorney's Office.

If you have any information about the investigation, you're urged to contact the Carson City Sheriff's Office at (775) 887-2500.
