You can get rid of your old TVs and computers at a free e-waste recycling event later this month in South Lake Tahoe.
Electronic Waste Management (EWM), a California-approved e-waste collector, is holding a free e-waste disposal and recycling event Saturday and Sunday from 9am-3pm at South Lake Tahoe Middle School located at 2940 Lake Tahoe Blvd.
Any California business, school, government agency, organization, and/or resident can use this service for free, but Nevada residents will have to pay a small fee depending on the type of donation.
EWM says it will accept TVs, computers, monitors, computer components, power supplies, telephone equipment, scrap metal and wire. It will NOT accept household appliances, smoke detectors, furniture, or household or car batteries.
EWM says there is no limit on how much people can donate.
For a complete list of accepted items, go to www.noewaste.com. There you can also fill out the required California state e-waste form.
