City of Sparks Requests Feedback From Residents

Posted: Updated:

The City of Sparks has developed two online surveys and encourages feedback from residents to help the City identify budget priorities.  The surveys can be found on-line at www.cityofsparks.us.  In consideration of limited funding and staffing resources, responses to the surveys will help the City decide what services to provide in the current economic climate.

The Sparks' Citizen Survey, sponsored by the Sparks Citizens Advisory Committee (SCAC) asks residents to rate major services such as public safety, events, infrastructure and development.  The anonymous survey, which will take about ten minutes to complete and is limited to Sparks residents only, can be found at Sparks Citizens Survey.

The questionnaire for the Sparks Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Plan asks residents to help identify funding priorities for parks, programs, special events, and trails for the next 10 years.  Using this feedback, the plan will make recommendations to fund priority park and recreation services that support our quality of life, tourism and economic development.  This survey can be found at Sparks Parks & Rec Survey.  This survey also takes about 10 minutes and is open to residents throughout Washoe County.

Gathering public opinion on these issues is an important step in the process of setting budget priorities.  The questionnaires are now available on the City's website.  When residents complete the questionnaires, they are asked to encourage friends, family and colleagues to fill out surveys to share their insights as well.  The surveys will remain on the City of Sparks website until Friday, March 29, 2013.
