Reno Police say more than 17 commercial burglaries have been reported this month. Officers say the crimes have mostly happened in the southern part of town.

Monday morning, police say the Hong Kong Diner on Prototype Way along with the Donut Bistro, Modern Nails and Subway on South Meadows Parkway were all hit. Businesses in downtown and north Reno have been robbed as well.

Police say the break ins happen between midnight and 4 a.m. In most of the crimes, it appears the suspects are targeting smaller stores and restaurants. Police say they often break a window to get into the business then head to the safes and cash registers.

"For these people to go in and take everything these folks have earned over the weekend, it impacts the community, it impacts all of us, and we want to make sure we try to put a stop to it," said Reno Police Sergeant Pat Dreelan.

Reno Police say they are aware of two suspects in these crimes. Both are said to be white men between 5'9" and 6' tall. Surveillance cameras in the businesses have captured photos of the suspects but their faces are covered by masks.
