Sparks Police Look For Suspect in Attempted Child Luring

Posted: Updated:

The Sparks Police Department is looking into a report of an attempted child luring.

A 15-year old girl says she was walking on Sullivan Lane on Friday morning when the driver of a 4-door SUV-type vehicle (possibly a GMC) with Nevada license plates asked her if he could give her a ride. The girl says she ignored him and walked away.

Police say the driver followed her and stopped in front of the girl before getting out of his vehicle. He asked her again if he could give her a ride. Once again, the girl did not respond and she went into a gated apartment complex. The driver then left the area.

Police say the driver was a black man between 30 and 40-years old, around 6'0" tall and weighing 160-170 lbs. He had collar-length hair in corn rows, and the girl said he spoke with a slight southern accent.

If you know anything about the suspect, you're being urged to call Sparks Police Detectives at (775) 353-2225 or Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900. You can also text your tip to 847-411.
