The Douglas County Sheriff's Office has a man behind bars after leading officers on a high-speed chase Friday morning.

Deputies say they were told that the California Highway Patrol was in pursuit of a black Chevy Malibu around 10 a.m. Troopers tried to stop the vehicle in California near Meyers when the driver, identified as 53-year old Steven Linsey from San Francisco, sped off towards Nevada.

As the vehicle crossed the Nevada state line, Douglas County deputies joined the pursuit, which continued up Kingsbury Grade.

Deputies say Linsey continued on Kingsbury Grade into the Carson Valley at 90+ MPH. He then turned north onto Foothill Road and went through the town of Genoa. Deputies say Linsey finally stopped at Jacks Valley Road and Trail Court.

Linsey was then arrested and taken to the Douglas County Jail where he was booked on charges of reckless driving, eluding a police officer, DUI, possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia. More charges are pending from California.

Deputies say the investigation is ongoing.
