Person of Interest in Spanish Springs Homicide Found Dead

Authorities say the person of interest in a Spanish Springs homicide investigation was found dead in his jail cell.

The Churchill County sheriff says 48-year-old Billey Stanberry was found dead early Wednesday morning. It appears he hanged himself but they are still waiting for an official cause of death.

Washoe County Deputies named Stanberry a person of interest in the Spanish Springs homicide last week.

Washoe County Deputies say Stanberry used to live with the victim, 47-year-old Ryan Petty who was found shot dead in his backyard on Mia Drive.
