Man Killed in Train vs. Vehicle Accident

The Pershing County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly accident involving a vehicle and a train.

The undersheriff of Pershing County says the accident happened just before 4 p.m. Tuesday near Lovelock.

Officials say a man tried to drive across the train tracks along Interstate 80, near exit number 119, but his vehicle was hit by a train. The undersheriff says the man was driving across a marked crossing.

The man died at the scene. There were no injuries reported from the train.

Officials with Union Pacific are also investigating the accident.
