Washoe Deputies say an alert neighbor led to the eventual arrest of 6 suspected burglars in the North Valleys area.

Deputies say the neighbor saw two men at the front door of another neighbor's house in Cold Springs on March 11th. The neighbor stated the men climbed over a fence and then heard a burglar alarm, prompting the neighbor to call 911.

Deputies say they arrived in time to witness the suspect vehicle leaving the area to make a traffic stop. That led to the arrest of one unidentified underage boy and two men for burglary.

A follow-up investigation led to an address in the 1300 block of Lear Blvd. in Stead. They say a search warrant led to the recovery of items stolen in three other burglaries. It's believed the suspects are responsible for at least six area burglaries and other suspects.

Deputies say the suspects intended to continue their activity by knocking on doors of homes that appeared to be unoccupied. If met by a homeowner, they would ask for a friend by name and claim they had the wrong house.
