Troopers Identify Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident
Nevada Highway Patrol troopers have identified the woman killed in a hit-and-run accident late Sunday night near Airport Road.
Troopers and Carson City Sheriff's Deputies got the call at 11p.m. Sunday near the 3400 block of Highway 50 East in Carson City.
Troopers say a preliminary investigation shows a 1999 Ford Explorer was heading east on U.S. 50, when for some unknown reason 27-year-old Celeste Santens crossed south to north just east of Airport Road. She was not in a designated crosswalk.
They say the front portion of the Explorer hit Santens - she died at the scene.
The Explorer was later located at Pinecone and Amber Streets in Dayton with four people inside: 48-year-old Cynthia Munroe, a 15-year-old boy, 14-year-old girl and 10-year-old boy.
Munroe was booked into the Carson City Sheriff's Office for felony hit and run involving death and driving on a suspended driver's license. Troopers say she posted bail on Monday.
