RENO, Nev. -- Tyler Wells lasted 7 1/3 strong innings, a career high, to lead the University of Nevada baseball team to a 6-1 victory over Air Force on Saturday.
The Wolf Pack (13-6, 2-0) earned its fourth straight win after the victory over the Falcons (5-12, 0-2). After giving up a run in the first, Wells (4-0) found a groove as he struck out five while walking two in his career-high fourth victory of the season. Kyle Hunt had an RBI single in the fourth, while Hugo Hernandez and Brooks Klein each added an RBI in the fifth as insurance. Tommy Niebergall also scored in the seventh as a pinch runner for Hernandez to help Nevada cruise to victory.
