Reno firefighters say they rescued three dogs from a two-bedroom home filled with heavy smoke Wednesday afternoon.
The fire broke out just before 2pm in the 400-block of Marsh Avenue.
After rescuing the dogs, crews say they transported them to Klaich Animal Hospital where one animal underwent surgery. The other two were admitted for treated and observation.
Investigators say the fire was caused by a bag of dog food left on a stove, and that most likely one of the dogs may have turned a knob on the electric stovetop burner.
