Sparks Police have released new information on an attempted kidnapping along Victorian Avenue earlier this month.

Sparks Police say they have identified the suspect as 33-year-old Armando Torres-Cleto who also uses the names Manuel Torres, Eduardo Torres-Bernabe and Armando Cleto.

Torres-Cleto is said to be 5'5" and 160 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Photos of Torres-Cleto are attached to this story.

Police say the white van said to be part of the crime on March 12th in the 2100 block of Victorian Avenue has been positively identified and located and they have issued an arrest warrant for Torres-Cleto.

The victim in the crime says a man, that police believe to be Torres-Cleto, was in a white van parked outside a convenience store honking and flashing his lights as if he was trying to get someone's attention. The woman went to the van and when she did, the suspect opened the passenger door and pointed a gun at her with his genitals exposed. Then the suspect grabbed the woman and tried to pull her into the van. Fortunately, she got away.

Sparks Police are asking anyone who may know about the crime or the location of Armando Torres-Cleto to call them at (775) 353-2225 or (775) 353-2231. You can also call Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900 or text your tip to 847411.
