The ninth-seeded University of Nevada women's basketball team (8-22, 2-14 MW) will face the top-seeded San Diego State Aztecs (24-5, 15-1 MW) in the quarterfinal round of the 2013 MW Basketball Championships Thursday afternoon at the Thomas & Mack Center. Tip-off is scheduled for noon.

San Diego State claimed both wins in the two regular season meetings between the schools by single digit margins. Danika Sharp just missed a double-double in the Jan. 23 match-up, with 15 points and nine rebounds. Emily Burns was close as well, finishing the game with 12 points, nine rebounds, and six blocks. The Aztecs enter postseason play riding a 15-game winning streak. San Diego State's last defeat took place on a Jan. 9 home loss to Fresno State. Courtney Clements leads the team with 17.6 ppg. Nevada trails the overall series 3-5. The last time the Wolf Pack defeated the Aztecs came in a 63-61 decision in Reno during the 2010-11 season.
