The Nevada Highway Patrol says an elderly woman was injured after a rollover accident Tuesday morning on the I-80 and I-580 interchange.

Troopers say a 1999 Toyota 4-Runner driven by 79-year-old Gloria M. Melms of Reno, drifted off the left roadway edge of the freeway ramp where it hit a small road marker post. She then overcorrected, causing the SUV to travel back across the ramp lane and leave the right roadway edge when it rolled over.

The SUV came to rest on its roof. No other vehicles were involved.

Emergency personnel had to cut Melms from her SUV. Melms was then transported to Renown Regional Medical Center for minor injuries and she was issued a citation for not using due care while operating a motor vehicle.

The NB580 onramp to E80 was temporarily blocked as crews cleaned up the accident.
