A local charter school that was in danger of closing down will be staying open after all.
Just last month, Rainshadow Community Charter High School faced a $200,000 shortfall and the board of directors voted to close down the school this summer.
But Principal Steve West tells Channel 2 News the community has stepped up in a big way.
Redfield -- and another foundation that wanted to stay anonymous -- reached out with financial donations. As a result, Rainshadow will be able to operate during the 2013-2014 school year and continue to serve its 120-plus students.
West says the school still needs to raise money and develop a sustainability plan for the long-term.
