The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office in California says deputies arrested a 17-year-old boy after he tried to stab a man late Sunday night.
Deputies say they received a 911 call Sunday just after 10pm stating a man had been stabbed as he and his wife slept inside a tent outside of the town of El Dorado.
Deputies say the couple, 42-year-old Deborah Lewis and 51-year-old Craig Templin, awoke to see the teen assault them. They say he tried to stab Templin, and both the boy and Templin received stab wounds during an ensuing struggle. Deputies say Templin detained him until deputies arrived on scene.
Both Templin and Lewis told police they did not know the boy or had never seen him before.
All three individuals were treated at a local hospital.
The unidentified boy was booked into juvenile hall for attempted murder.
