Two groups took part in a pancake eating contest today, not just for bragging rights, but for a great cause.
The Greater Nevada Credit Union squared off against the University of Nevada marching band Friday morning to raise money for the Special Olympics Nevada "Polar Plunge" at South Lake Tahoe later this month.
The two groups have also partnered to raise funds for the marching band program.
But that didn't stop the director of the marching band from talking a little trash before the contest.
"We've been training hard for this. We've been doing some stretches of the diaphragm. We want to make sure we can get a lot of pancakes in there and this is about pride for the band. So, Greater Nevada, you're going down today," says Dr. William Plenk.
In the end, a Greater Nevada Credit Union employee named Scott was the winner chowing down on 11 pancakes.
