A long-awaited remodeling of the lobby area will temporarily limit access to the Washoe County Health District offices March 11 - 29, 2013, according to health officials. In addition, during this time there will be no access to the Health District conference rooms. The March 28 meeting of the Washoe County District Board of Health will be relocated to the Washoe County Commission Chambers, and will begin at the regularly-scheduled time – 1 p.m.
Customers coming into the Health District for Vital Statistics and Clinic Services, including Immunizations, will be directed to access these services through the Clinic Entrance ramp at the north side of Building B at the Washoe County Administrative Complex, 1001 East Ninth Street in Reno.
Customers looking for Environmental Health Services, Air Quality Management Division, Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), as well as guests of Administrative Health Services or Epidemiology and Public Health Preparedness will have access to those offices through the breezeway doors located between Buildings B and C at the same location. Special accommodations will be made for disabled persons during this period on the first floor of the Air Quality Management Division. Please call (775) 328-2410 prior to visiting to make special arrangements.
"We will have signs posted and volunteers to help direct customers during the remodeling, and we thank everyone in advance for their cooperation and understanding during this time," said Health District spokesperson Phil Ulibarri. "However, this construction project also gives us a chance to emphasize the various online options available to the public so they may not have to come into the Heath District at all," he added. According to Ulibarri, Nevada immunization records are available at www.izrecord.nv.gov, and also by calling the Nevada webIZ helpdesk at 775-684-5954. There is also an online option for vitals record orders. While Washoe County Health District does not accept online orders, interested persons can process online requests through VitalChek at www.vitalchek.com. An additional fee is charged by VitalChekfor using this service.
