The American Heart Association held its annual Go Red for Women Luncheon Friday inside the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa.
Of course, hundreds of women came out in red - and so did our local mayors.
Sparks Mayor Geno Martini and Reno Mayor Bob Cashell got into the spirit of the event donning red dresses that Mayor Cashell compared to tents.
While their dress may have been funny, Mayor Martini says heart health is something both women and men should take seriously.
"It's not only good for women to be here but it's good for men like myself to be here. I suffered a heart attack in 2000, had a couple stents put in so I understand being aware of your surroundings and those kinds of things is great, so that 's why I'm here today to make people aware of heart healthy people," says Mayor Martini.
Mayor Cashell recently underwent heart surgery last fall.
