The University of Nevada is planning to upgrade dormitories that currently house graduate students and their families.
The University Village Apartments on Evans Avenue are more than 50 years old.
Under a plan approved by the Nevada Board of Regents Investment and Facilities Committee today, those apartments will be razed and be replaced with a new $20 million student housing complex.
It would triple the number of apartments available in that location as well as include more modern amenities.
The Board of Regents will vote on giving final approval to the project Friday.
