The Washoe County Sheriff's Office has a man behind bars accused of burglarizing a home Wednesday afternoon.

Deputies say an unidentified neighbor reported seeing the suspect taking several items out of the home on the 4300 block of Ross Drive in Reno.

When deputies arrived at the home, they found damage to a door that looked like it was forced open.

They later found the suspect, 33-year old John Markey and arrested him. He was taken to the Washoe County Jail, where he was booked on a burglary charge.

Deputies say no one was in the house at the time of the incident. Deputies were looking through the area to see if any other homes were burglarized. Fortunately, they say there weren't any other affected homes.

Deputies are commending the neighbor for seeing the suspect and calling authorities with detailed eye witness information.

If you've seen any suspicious activity, you're always encouraged to call the Washoe County Sheriff's Office at (775) 785-9276, or 911, if it's an emergency.
