Washoe County Clerk’s Office to Accept Tax, Utility Payments

Posted: Updated:

With the fourth installment of 2012/2013 Washoe County property taxes due Monday, Mar. 4, Washoe County tax and utility payments can now be made in person after 5 p.m. and on weekends at the County Clerk's Office, 1001 E. Ninth Street, Building A.

The Clerk's Office is open 365 days a year from 8 a.m- midnight, so customers can either make payments from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Treasurer's Office, or visit the Clerk's Office after those hours from:

  • 5 p.m.-midnight, Monday through Friday
  • 8 a.m.-midnight on weekends and holidays

Acceptable forms for payment of tax/utility bills at the Clerk's Office are cash (exact change only), check, money order or cashier's check. No credit cards or debit cards may be used for payment at this time.

To make a payment during these hours, customers may access the Clerk's Office from the Ninth Street entrance. As the exterior doors will be locked, customers should use the buzzer to let the Clerk's staff know assistance is needed.

"We are pleased to work with the Clerk's Office to offer this expanded payment acceptance availability," said Washoe County Treasurer Tammi Davis. "We believe that our taxpayers and utility customers will benefit from having the opportunity to pay in person on a weekend or after work."
