The city of Sparks has agreed to pay $150,000 to a former employee who sued the city for age discrimination.
The city council approved the settlement with former assistant city attorney Timothy Randolf in a unanimous vote Tuesday.
The 56-year-old had sued the city last summer for allegedly forcing him out of his job because of his age.
The city argued budget cuts caused the layoff, but Randolf's suit said his seniority should have spared him.
