According to our Las Vegas affiliate KLAS, the Department of Public Safety has barred Assemblyman Steven Brooks from buying a weapon for at least a year.
Brooks attempted to purchase a rifle from the Scheels sporting good store in Sparks on Thursday.
Brooks has been arrested twice, given a psychiatric evaluation, been banned from meetings with party colleagues in the Assembly and banished from the Nevada Legislature building.
Last month, Brooks was arrested for allegedly threatening Assembly Speaker Marilyn Kirkpatrick. He was also accused of grabbing for an officer's gun during an arrest nearly two weeks ago on suspicion of domestic battery in Las Vegas.
