One man is dead after an officer-involved shooting that happened Saturday night in Reno.
Reno Police say they got a call from neighbors reporting a domestic disturbance at a home on the 1400 block of Elizabeth Drive near Idlewild.
A commander with the Reno Police Department says one of the officers perceived a threat and fired his weapon. A man was hit and killed. A woman at the scene was not injured.
"This is a house we're familiar with," said Commander Mac Venzon with the Reno Police Department. "A house we've responded to a number of times. I don't know exactly how many times, but even the officers who responded to the scene were familiar with what was going on."
Police have not released any information on the man's name or age, or any other details about what led up to the shooting.
The Sparks Police Department will be taking over the investigation. They say the officer was placed on routine paid administrative leave as the investigation continues.
Sparks Police say no further comments will be made on the investigation until it has been fully completed.
