Nevada Diabetes Association to Hold Open House in Reno

The NDA is moving their offices from Terminal Way to 18 Stewart Street. The new office is having an open house March 8, 2013 from 10-2 p.m.

"Nearly 26 million children and adults in the United States have diabetes. Another 79 million Americans have pre-diabetes and are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes. The total national cost of diagnosed diabetes in the United States is $174 billion." Nevada is not immune to this issue, 8% of Nevadans have been diagnosed with diabetes. The NDA helps children and adults every step of the way by providing programs, services and support. Among the programs provide are camps for children teens and families.

The NDA is not affiliated with any national organization and all funds raised stay in the community.

The Nevada Diabetes Association is a non-profit organization incorporated in April 1997 to meet a broad spectrum of needs for diabetes services in Nevada and California communities. The NDA has established numerous partnerships across the state to further reduce the incidences of diabetes and its complications in both adults and children.
