The University of Nevada softball team hit four home runs and won a slugfest with No. 20 Hawai'i on Saturday, beating the Rainbow Wahine 11-9 to close out play at the Red Desert Classic.

Nevada leveled its record at 5-5 with the win, while Hawai'i fell to 8-4.

The Wolf Pack's homers came from Erin Jones (1), Sara Parsons (3), Lauren Lastrapes (1) and Megan Fincher (4). Fincher's four lead the Wolf Pack. Jones raised her average to .500 with a 3-4 day, which is the second-best batting average of any Wolf Pack hitter. Karley Hopkins leads the team at .543 after a 1-3 day.

Parsons hit three home runs, including two grand slams, at the Classic. She drove in 12 runs in five games to tie Jones for the team lead.

Nevada scored its 11 runs over four innings, getting at least two in each. The Pack has now scored at least 10 runs on three occasions, including a 14-6 win over BYU, a 13-7 victory over Weber State and Saturday's win over Hawai'i.

Karlyn Jones came into the game in relief and pitched the final 3.2 innings and giving up only one run. She struck out five batters and surrendered four hits. The junior from Sparks, Nev. is now 3-2 and has won two consecutive decisions. Jones beat Portland State on Saturday for her second win.

A day after the Wolf Pack saw every hitter in the lineup record at least one hit, seven Pack players got into the hit column against the Rainbow Wahine on Sunday. With the Pack bats red hot, four players currently hold a batting of .400 or better. In addition to Erin Jones and Hopkins, Megan Sweet and Caylin Campbell are at the .400 mark. Sweet drew another walk on Sunday to up her team-leading total to 13.

The Pack is now 1-1 against ranked opponents this season. It will return to action at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic on Friday, taking on Oregon State at 12:30, in Cathedral City, Calif.
