Reno police are investigating a pair of armed robberies that happened Thursday morning.

The first one happened at Interstate Insurance on Wells Avenue around 8:30am.

Police say a man walked in, pointed a handgun at an employee and demanded money.

When the employee said he didn't have any, the suspect hit the employee and demanded money a second time.

After obtaining a monetary loss, he ran away.

He's described as a Hispanic man in his 20s, 5'8" with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.

Then - less than an hour later police say two men entered the Hi Point Liquor store on Yori Avenue, and demanded money from the cash register.

They drove away in a small red SUV.

The first suspect is a black man between 5'9" and 6' tall with a medium build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.

The second suspect is a man of an unknown race, between 5'6" and 5'8" with a medium build. He was wearing a gray and blue hooded sweatshirt, ball cap and blue jeans.

Police are investigating whether these two robberies are related.
