Firefighters Put Out Late Night Blaze

Posted: Updated:

The Reno Fire Department worked on a structure fire late Wednesday night.

Fire officials tell Channel 2 News it happened after 11 p.m. on the 1200 block of Wells Avenue, near Vassar Street.

When crews arrived on scene, they saw some dark smoke coming from the inside of a family-owned auto-detailing shop. Officials say crews had to cut through the doors to get into the building to fight the fire.

Officials say after crews put out the fire, they found that the damage inside the shop is significant. Two cars inside the garage were completely destroyed.

The auto-detailing shop is next to a dress shop owned by the same family. Fire officials are unsure of the damage inside the dress shop at this time.
