Identity Theft at South Lake Tahoe Gas Pump

South Lake Tahoe Police are investigating an identity theft case.

Police say the victim recently used a credit card to purchase fuel at the Safeway gas station near U.S. 50 and Takela Avenue.

The victim's credit card information was stolen using a "skimmer," which is a device that's used to steal the card holder's information, including a pin number.

Police confirmed there are no more skimming devices at any of the Safeway's gas pumps.

They say there could be more victims. If you think you could have been affected, you're being asked to call South Lake Tahoe Police at (530) 542-6100.
