Gaming Board Pushes for Online Tournament Tax

Posted: Updated:

The State Gaming Control Board is hoping a bill to tax profits on internet poker tournaments will get approved during the 2013 legislative session.

The board chairman presented the bill to the Senate committee earlier this week.

Right now, on-site tournaments aren't taxed because of the investment by the host, but the gaming board hopes this tax will be approved since online tournaments don't have the same expenses.

Just last week -- Governor Brian Sandoval talked to us about his support of online gaming saying he hopes the legislature has it approved within 30 days.
